We are a husband and wife team sharing a love of good food and wine. We set up Pumpkin as a catering business in 2000 and we feel very lucky that we can combine our business with our passion in the picturesque seaside town of Whitstable. Deborah's catering career started with stints as a chalet girl before working at Egon Ronay's Guides and Searcy's (one of the big London catering companies). In 1996 she set up her own catering business which then became Pumpkin when John joined the company four years later.

John has always been a keen cook but had never cooked professionally until he joined Pumpkin in 2000. He now has a City & Guild's Diploma in Professional Cookery (passing with distinction in 2002) and holds a Level Three Supervisory Food Hygiene Certificate. Originally based in London, we relocated Pumpkin to Whitstable in 2003. We cater for a variety of events in venues that range from community halls to royal palaces and we are a registered food business with Canterbury City Council.
